Before moving pages
Save a clean backup of your planner or notebook before changing pages in Noteshelf.
- Be careful with Index pages. They are your main planner map.
- Be careful with template source pages. Keep a clean master for reuse.
- Be careful with main section pages. Moving them can make navigation confusing.
- Be careful with tutorial pages. They explain how the planner works.
- Be careful with pages that have important links. Test navigation after changes.
- Be careful with filled pages. Copy or export important writing before deleting anything.
Safest workflow: copy or duplicate the page first, move or edit the copy, keep the original clean when possible, avoid deleting important pages unless you are sure, and keep one original file saved outside Noteshelf as your backup.
Manage pages in Noteshelf
- Open the notebook or imported PDF.
- Tap the Finder menu, shown as the page-thumbnail icon, to open page previews.
- Tap Edit, then select the page or pages you want to manage. Start with one test page before changing several pages.
- Tap More, shown as the three-dot icon, then choose Move or Copy.
- For copied pages, open the destination notebook, open the Finder menu, long-tap the destination page, then choose Paste Below.
- After moving or pasting planner pages, return to the Index and test the main tabs, month links, and one template link before editing more pages.
Safer page management
Use Noteshelf page tools slowly at first. Copy or duplicate one clean template page, test where it lands, and check a few planner links before moving several pages.
What to copy first
- Template source pages: copy or duplicate before writing.
- Filled pages: copy before moving or deleting if they include writing you need.
- Notes pages: add space when one section needs more room.
- Daily or weekly pages: copy only when you intentionally want an extra planning copy, because dated pages already exist.
What to avoid changing first
- Index pages: keep your planner map stable.
- Main section pages: these may be linked from tabs or Index areas.
- Tutorial pages: keep them until you understand the planner workflow.
- Important link pages: test navigation before and after changes.
If page actions get confusing
1. The copied page is hard to find
What happens: the page exists but disappears among thumbnails.
What to do: bookmark it, paste it near the section where you use it, or keep the page action test in a separate planner copy.
2. The planner map feels strange
What happens: after moving pages, you are not sure where links should go.
What to do: test Index and a few main tabs. If the file feels messy, return to a clean imported copy and move only the notes you still need.
3. A page was deleted too soon
What happens: you removed a page and later realize it had links, writing, or a clean template source.
What to do: check Noteshelf Trash or restore guidance right away. If restore is not enough, re-import the original PDF and copy only the pages or notes you still need.
