First-day setup
Keep your first setup small.
- Save the original download as your clean backup.
- Import the actual PDF into Penly.
- Open the planner or notebook.
- Go to the Index page.
- Tap one link to test navigation.
- Write one small note or task.
- Try one real page you will use today.
Decorating, section organization, template copies, and full planner setup can wait until after day one.

Set up your first NozomuNoto planner or notebook in Penly
- Save the original NozomuNoto download as your clean backup.
- Import the actual planner or notebook PDF into Penly.
- Open the planner or notebook from My Notes.
- Go to the Index page.
- Tap one Index item, month tab, week, or day link to test navigation.
- Write one small note or task on a blank area or notes page.
- Try one real page you will use today.
- After that first page feels right, leave template copies, page organizing, covers, and stickers for later.

Good first Penly setup
Start with the PDF, the Index, one link, one note, and one real page. That is enough for the first day.
What can wait until later
Decorating, section organization, template copies, cover changes, and full planner setup can wait. Learn the main flow first, then add page copies, stickers, covers, and bigger organization when you need them.
First Penly checks
- Backup: the original download is saved outside Penly.
- File: the actual planner or notebook PDF is imported into Penly.
- Index: you can find the Index page.
- Link: one tab, date, or Index link moves to the right page.
- Writing: one small note or task saves on the page.
