Before changing your cover
Save a clean backup of your planner or notebook first.
Then check which cover file type you have:
- Use a PDF cover if you want to insert or replace a full page.
- Use a PNG or JPG cover if you want to place it as an image.
- Use an app-specific cover file only if it is made for Kilonotes.
After changing the cover, check that the planner still opens correctly and keep your original planner file safe.

- Open the Kilonotes library and check the planner thumbnail first.

- Check whether your cover is a PDF page, PNG image, JPG image, or Kilonotes-specific file.
- If you want a different visible front page, make that choice before writing heavily in the planner.
- Keep linked dated planner pages in their original order instead of moving them only to force a new cover thumbnail.
- Keep the original NozomuNoto PDF outside Kilonotes so you can restart cleanly if the visible cover or first page becomes confusing.

1. Choose the cover file first
Use a PDF cover when you want a full page. Use a PNG or JPG cover when you want an image placed on a page. Use a Kilonotes-specific cover file only when the product clearly includes one.
2. Protect the planner map
Keep dated pages, Index pages, and template source pages in their original order unless you are intentionally changing the planner structure.
3. Test after changing the cover
Open the planner, check the thumbnail or first visible page, then test the Index and one planner link.
