Before changing your cover

Save a clean backup of your planner or notebook first. Then check what type of cover file you have before changing pages in Penly.

  1. PDF cover: use this when you want to insert or replace a full page.
  2. PNG or JPG cover: use this when you want to place the cover as an image.
  3. Penly-specific cover file: use this only when the product clearly says it is made for Penly.
  4. Backup: keep the original planner file saved outside Penly.
  5. After changing: reopen the planner, check the thumbnail or first page, and test one Index link.

Penly cover checks

1. Pick the right cover file

A PDF cover works like a full planner page. A PNG or JPG cover works like an image placed on a page. A Penly-specific cover file should be used only when the NozomuNoto product clearly labels it for Penly.

2. Match the planner format

Use a cover made for the same orientation and product size. A landscape cover belongs with a landscape planner. A portrait cover belongs with a portrait planner.

3. Check before deleting

After changing the cover, open the planner, check the library thumbnail or first page, and test one Index link. Delete old cover pages only after the new setup looks right.
