Choose your problem first

If something is not working in Noteshelf, start with the issue that matches what you see.

  1. Links fail to move: turn on Read-Only Mode, then test one Index link with your finger.
  2. The planner imported incorrectly: import the actual planner or notebook PDF, not the ZIP, receipt, preview page, or instruction-only PDF.
  3. Stickers look blurry: insert the original PNG again and keep it closer to its original size.
  4. Pages feel hard to manage: use Pages or Finder carefully and keep a clean backup before deleting or moving pages.
  5. The file feels slow: close extra notebooks, check storage, update Noteshelf, and test with a clean copy.
  6. You need more help: send your product name, device, Noteshelf version if known, exact issue, and a screenshot or short screen recording.

Noteshelf problems to check first

  1. Links fail to move: turn on Read-Only Mode and test one obvious Index link with your finger. If the same link fails in Apple Files too, the issue may be in the file rather than Noteshelf mode.

Read-Only ModeIf links fail to move, turn on Read-Only Mode and test again. Product shown: Yume Techo Academic 26-27 Landscape.
  2. The planner imported incorrectly: return to Files and check that the NozomuNoto ZIP was extracted. Import the actual planner PDF through the Noteshelf Add menu and Import. Skip receipts, previews, ZIP files, and instruction-only PDFs for planner setup.
    Import again
Import againIf the PDF is missing, import the extracted planner again from Noteshelf Add > Import. Product shown: Yume Techo Academic 26-27 Landscape.
  3. Stickers look blurry: insert the original PNG again and keep it closer to its original size. Avoid screenshots, previews, or enlarged tiny icons for planner stickers.

  4. Page tools feel hidden: open the Pages or Finder view, then use the page action menu. Copy or duplicate important pages before moving, sharing, or deleting them.

Page actionsIf page tools feel hidden, open Pages or Finder and use the page menu. Product shown: Yume Techo Academic 26-27 Landscape.
  5. A clean template was filled by accident: import a fresh copy of the original PDF, find the clean template page, and duplicate it again. Keep the working copy separate from the backup copy.
  6. The planner feels slow: close extra notebooks, use fewer large images, check storage, update Noteshelf if needed, and test the same planner as a clean copy.

Fast troubleshooting path

  1. Test a fresh import. Import the original NozomuNoto PDF again before page moves, cover changes, exports, or heavy stickers.
  2. Test one Index link. Use Read-Only Mode and tap with your finger.
  3. Test the same link in Apple Files. This separates file-link issues from Noteshelf mode issues.
  4. Check one sticker PNG. Insert the original PNG at a smaller size if a sticker looks blurry.
  5. Use Pages or Finder for page structure. Check order, bookmarks, page copy, and page actions there.

When to start fresh

Start fresh when links stop working after many edits, the wrong file was imported, or too many page/image experiments made the planner confusing. A clean re-import is often faster than trying to repair a heavily edited copy.

Before asking for help

  1. Product: product name, year, orientation, week start, and color.
  2. Device: iPad model if known and iPadOS version.
  3. App: Noteshelf version if known.
  4. Issue: exact page, link, file, sticker, or action that failed.
  5. Visual proof: screenshot or short screen recording showing the selected mode and what happens after tapping.

Common Noteshelf fixes

1. Use the PDF, not the ZIP

Planner and notebook products should be imported as PDF files after extraction.

2. Use Read-Only Mode for links

Edit mode is for writing. Read-Only Mode is for moving through hyperlinked planner pages.

3. Use Pages or Finder view for page structure

When pages feel lost, thumbnails are the clearest place to check page order, bookmarks, and page actions.
